I bought this to replace two faulty Edge 800 heart monitors.
The premium Heart monitor worls well with my Edge 800 and seems reliable after a year.
Am sure it will work on the Edge 500 and will be more reliable too.

I bought this product recently and it had one grey insert on strap where the transmitter clicks into place. Very pleased with this product as its light and easy to pair with my garmin edge 800 and had no data issues after several rides. Strap is machine washable to, just make sure you detach the transmitter first though.

ANT+ is a system for fitness equipment like bluetooth is for computers, so in theory it will link but that depends on the Iphone software too

Question

ANT+ Certified Device?

Are you sure this is not the Garmin Premium Heart Rate Monitor (Soft Strap /HRM2) which is ANT+ certified? I have Suunto Ambit2 device to which I hope to connect this heart rate transmitter.

This is an ANT+ certified HRM , however they are designed to work with Garmin products and not guaranteed with third party devices

answer 2
Can I cordially suggest that the Evans Cycles' staff answering questions about ANT+ devices read this:

http://www.thisisant.com/company/d1/history/

and other pages from this site such that they understand what this de jure standard is all about. ANT+ accreditation of a device guarantees interoperability - that's its raison d'être after all!!!

Furthermore, 'guessing' and speculating about answers to specific questions - something which is occurring waaaay to often - is utterly pointless and affords the questioner no confidence whatsoever, either in Evans Cycles OR the advice proffered and will, ergo, likely not return a sale.

This 'answer' will probably not get published as it is not simply answering a question, it is somewhat critical of Evans' staff ... and that's just not allowed, even if they are wrong!

Well, that is up to you, the person reviewing this response; however, if you're not prepared to edit the response such that your (potential) customers receive a fact-based response, then I suggest you simply circulate this correspondence around the office such that Evans' Support Staff better understand what it is prospective customers are enquiring about, in this case an effective standard all-but-guaranteeing interoperability.

Food for thought, one would hope!?
