They are made from 4130 chromoly which is stronger and lighter than hi-tensile steel (which you might find on lower-end bikes). This is one of the things which helps keep the cost down on cheaper bikes. You should upgrade to chromoly bars if you are only running hi-tensile steel, and these BLANK bars are one of the best value chromo bars on the market!
