Yes. As are the cadence sensor and heart rate monitor that came with the Edge 305 (and any other ANT+ sensors). I know because I'm using the cadence sensors and heart rate monitors from my Edge 305 with an Edge 800.

Yes, but better than that - the Garmin Edge uses ANT+ sensors so rather than being stuck with the all-in-one GSC10 you can add sensors from other manufacturers, for example I use Bontrager speed and cadence sensors with my Edge 500 - you are free to mix and match.

The 500 certainly comes with two full sets of bike mounts... As I found after I ordered it along with a spare mount set, expecting to get only one with the computer.

I'm pretty sure you can. I assume the SD card works the same as on the previous models, so just put it on there (renaming it gmapsupp).

Apparently yes. The OS 1:25k maps for the National Parks and a few other parts of GB are available on mini-SD to fit the Edge 800. And I believe you can also transfer the disc-based (i.e. DVD) versions to a mini-SD and use them in the Edge 800.

Hi, not with the off road maps supplied with the trail pack. It can do route planning and routing etc., but more manually than a car gps.

With the road maps it can work like a car gps.

No. Currently each device has its own mapping system and even though you're buying OS 1:50k mapping, the device/software guys have configured the maps for their own use.
The 800 is the third time I've bought full UK OS mapping - it would be REALLY helpful if the data was compatible...

An AC-to-USB charger and a USB cable is included with the Garmin Edge 800 - with both a UK and a two prong mains plug.
Two bike mounts were included with my Trail pack.
