Unfortunately you can only do that during initial setup, so if you want to change, you have do do a full reset, and all data is lost.

You can set it up to ride in either MPH or KMPH but I don't think you switch between whilst riding. Not sure whether it would keep the previous data either as you may have to completely reset it to change the units of measurement

yes you can switch unit to mph but only on set up, unit would then only use mph until you go through setup again. all previous data would be lost. theres two bottons on back at bottom of unit to use a pen to reset and set. right hand button to reset and middle button to set full instructions from www.cateye.com/uk/manuals/10 then look for your model number cc-vt200w and follow instructions for set up

Probably not unless you are willing to stick the magnet to the spokes in some other way - a bit of gaffer tape?

If you search for 'Cateye Universal Wheel Magnet' you will see the component that fits onto the spokes. I can't see how this could be adapted to fit a blade.

On the back, there is a recessed button, the "reset" button. You'll need a paper pin to press it. I think ALL DATA WILL BE LOST.

answer 2
My understanding is that to reset the odometer (cumulative) you need to reset the device by pressing the all clear button underneath the readout and go through the set up again rather than just the data reset by pressing the mode key for 2secs (more like 3-4). Obviously you can just make a note of the mileage for each trip you do before doing the data reset.

answer 3
I'd think that this is suitable for mountain biking having purchased and fitted the above computer - the sensor mounts to the fork leg with a kind of rubber cradle and cable ties, the magnet fits to the spoke with a plastic bracket and metal screw. The handlebar mount for the computer is held on with cable ties, and then the computer just slides & clicks in. I reckon the computer would be the first to come off/out if you had a really hard landing or big off to be honest, but I have to really pull hard to get the computer out of the bracket.

p.s. I'm doing the red trail at dalby in 3 weeks time so will report back then :)

Yes this could be used on a mountain bike. However you would need to be careful and make sure it is secured correctly and obviously be aware it can get damaged if you ever take a fall.

Question

Can the sensor be fitted to the rear wheel?

answer 1
I will say no. While technically there is no reason you can't do this, you won't be able to see the screen. The maximum distance from the sensor to the screen is 70cm, and the sensor must be 'underneath' the screen for a signal to be registered. I would guess this question came from wanting a computer for use on a turbo trainer/rollers? I would suggest a wired computer with a longer wire for this purpose.

answer 2
If your sensor's wire is long enough or you have a wireless sensor, then yes. The readings will in theory be a little bit more accurate from the rear wheel but they're really never 100% anyway

answer 3
Hi, the cable on this one is only long enough to attach to the front wheel.

You can get optional rear wheel mounting kits separately though, or most computers with cadence work from the rear wheel rather than the front.

CR2032 3V lithium coin cell, and they should last a year or two I would have thought. They are supplied with this computer (one in the main unit and one in the transmitter).

answer 3
Hi,

The unit uses 2 x CR2032 batteries, one in the unit and one in the sensor, battery life will depend on use, with daily use I've had 3 months battery life, but it all depends on the length of your trips etc.

Thanks,

Tony

Question

how far down the spoke and fork does the magnet and sensor go

answer 1
You can place it anywhere along the length of the fork and spoke, as long as the magnet and sensor are at the same height, since the sensor count time between revolutions, not the speed at which the magnet passes the sensor, i.e. radius of rotation (distance down the fork/spoke) doesn't matter. Apologies for the technical answer, the important part is the first line.

answer 2
As close to the wheel center as possible - this makes the magnet pass the sensor at the slowest possible speed, ensuring the most accurate readings and also keeps your wheel more balanced
