Does this GPS allow downloading of routes and maps from websites?

it certainly allows the loading of routes, but probably not maps. The idea is that you buy the maps (e.g Ordnance Survey 1:50000) from Memory Map (or, if you already have MM OS maps you might be able to transfer them onto your A2800), and then you overlay routes which you might have downloaded from various websites as GPX files. You can then follow the route on the map.

Your Adventurer GPS is warranted for one year from the date of purchase from all defects that occur with normal use. Within this period Memory-Map will repair or replace your GPS except for failures due to abnormal use, accident, unauthorised alteration or repairs. Please consult your local store.

plannning cycle route

How simple is is to use this gps I am planning cycling the route 7 cycle route from carlisle to inverness how would i go about getting the information up on the gps and will it let me know like a sat nav if i am going in wrong direction i am usless with maps so i am hoping this will be life saver to me any help and tips will be greatly appreciated thanks

The Adventurer 2800 records your speeds and distance as you move to display hold down on the track and click properties.
