It goes onto rear axle. You simply replace your quick release with one provided.

The quick release of the bike is replaced by a longer one (included) with special ends that attach to the arms of the trailer.
I have one of these trailers and its fantastic for doing the weekly supermarket trip on.

About 35 kg is the limit.
