Probably, best to order and have delivered to local store where you can try it out and return without hassle. Rack easily adapted to my Triple A frame GT mountain bike - but you cannot use the bike for off road with the seat and child onboard!!

Hi, this is a very pertinent question.

The Co-Pilot childseats are supplied with a Blackburn EX1 rack which is an intregral part of the fitment of the childseat. The seat slides onto the rack and locks in place so this rack is a crucial part of the fitting procedure.

However, this rack will not fit onto bikes fitted with disc brakes where the brake caliper sits above the seat stay, as is the case with your Rockhopper and in fact many mountainbikes.

There is only one rack that we sell that will fit with this type of disc brake (Topeak Super Tourist DX) but it is, unfortunately, incompatible with the Co-Pilot child seats.

Your only real alternative would be to opt for one of the Hamax seats which fit onto the seat tube of the main bicycle frame. As they're secured by two sprung arms the weight capacity is a little lower than that of the Co-Pilots

The CoPilot Taxi comes complete with a Blackburn Expedition rack which will fit directly to this bike.
Fitting a rear mudguard will not be easy, as the bike only has single eyelets on the rear dropouts. You could use a P-clip for the lower fixing, or use a long bolt to attach rack and mudguard stay at the eyelet. If you use the latter method, fit the rack next to the frame and regularly check the fixing for tightness and integrity.
If you need to use the seat on another bike, you can purchase another rack. (NB The seat is only compatible with the Blackburn rack.)

Yes, this will fit your Trek 7.5, the rack is mounted to the frame via the necessary eyelets which are explained in the instructions and then the rack just slides and clicks into place. Obviously if you don't want to or can't fit it your local store will for you, and without the seat mounted you can use the rack as a normal goodies carrier.

The frame of your bike has all the necessary threaded bosses to ensure that the Blackburn rack, supplied with the seat, can be securely fixed. There should be no problem fitting the seat to the rack - it just slides into position (but don't forget to secure the safety fittings).

Hello,

This child seat will fit the bike as long as you are not using disc brake, if disc brake are on the bike then this child seat will not fit.
