It bolts onto the two nutserts on the down and cross frames. Bolts are supplied with the cages.

These attach to the down tube of the bike or the seat tube, normally the bike comes with the pre-drilled holes and they have the bolts already attached to the frame, if not cable ties do the trick.

No! Given that I am right handed it was better for me to locate it on the down tube, rather than the seat tube.

No just right, I'm left handed and I looked for a left side loading cage, there doesnt seem to be one on the market.
