The computer and sender unit take a cheap watch style battery (CR2032) that is available at any electronics or department store. I change them every 12 months for around $5 Australian Dollars for the pair.

answer 1
The actual functions are the clock, ride time, ride distance, average speed, maximum speed and overall odometer. There's no cadence, only an indicator to tell you at any point in the ride if you are riding at, above or below your average speed.

The 12 features are different from the 10 functions on the computer.
Features being things like Auto Power Saving and Stem and Handlebar Mount.
And no, it doesn't measure cadence.

From your main menu you get time, distance, av speed, max speed, overall distance and a clock. You get a sub menu (if you stick it on a bike with a different wheel size) you get time, distance and av speed. Struggling to see where 12 come from. It's got a back light, is that a function?? It's a decent product, I like it anyway.

Question

This computer doesn't have my wheel size

My wheel size is 26" x 1.6". However when programming this computer the chart on the instruction booklet doesn't have a code for my wheel size.

Is it ok to use the code for the nearest listed wheel size (26 x 1.50), or am I likely to get inaccurate readings.

answer 1
It won't make it wildly inaccurate, but if you want to get your computer completely accurate, you will need to measure your bike's wheel circumference manually.
Put your bike on a flat surface. Use some chalk to mark the ground and the tyre where the tyre meets the ground. Move the bike forward until the tyre mark touches the ground again, mark that point on the ground, measure the distance between the two ground marks in mm and thats the figure to enter into your cycle computer. It will be somewhere close to 2015.

Why not try measuring your wheel. Or using an interim rim length between the two nearest.

answer 3
measure the actual circumferance of your tyre, pumped up, and with you on it. This measurement, in mm, is the code you're looking for to calibrate it. ie pick a point on the outermost point of your tyre and then make a single a complete revolution, the distance travelled is the same as the circumferance of your tyre.

answer 4
You should be able to manually enter your wheel size.
Instead of using the presets (the chart on the instruction booklet) measure the diameter/circumference of your wheel and manually input that into your speedo (instructions are in the instruction booklet)

answer 5
You'll get inaccurate readings, either measure your wheel circumference, or easier still measure the diameter or radius and work it out, 2πR ;). You can then type in the exact circumference. The booklet is handy if you exactly match any of the sizes but it's not a specific Cateye number, it's just the circumference.

To reset all the ride information except the Odo reading, you hold down the Mode button on the top of the Micro and press the Start/Stop button on the front of the computer. There are two ride memories per bike, so you will need to switch over to the other nemory and repeat these steps to clear the info from your previous ride.

Just press the button on top and the front at the same time until it resets. It doesn't matter which stat is showing, but pick one that you can see that it has reset e.g. time or distance.

will this fit the rear wheel and work properly

answer 1
The instructions which come with the Micro say that the maximum distance between the transmitter and the computer should be no more than 70cm, but there have been times when I have forgotten to take the computer out of my tail pack or backpack and it still records the ride perfectly, so I'd be tempted to say yes because the distance between my transmitter mounted on the fork and my backpack pocket is greater than if the transmitter were mounted on either the seat stays or the chain stays and the computer were on the handle bars.

The sensor has to be within 70cm of the computer - it wouldnt work on my bike. Not sure the fitting would work on a thinner rear wheel frame.

I'm sure you could fit the magnet to the rear wheel and the sensor on your stays; if you have fairly normal rear stays. However I doubt the wireless signal will reach the computer, it might work but it's not designed for it.

This is for a front wheel only as the sensor will not pick up fron the back wheel as it is too far. The Strada would be a better option.

The Micro can be programmed for two bikes with different wheel sizes and has a seperate memory for each bike's ride information but the odo only records the distance the rider has riden in total, it does not split the distance between bikes. As of Feb 2012 the additional bike kit is £28.99, which is a little silly, as it's so close to the price of the entire unit that you may as well just buy two Micros.
The additional bike kit is product code: 104033.

Hi,

It's possible to fit this on 2 bikes and to store dual tire sizes and to store two separate trip distances, but you can only store one odomoter reading. The instruction manual is here to give you a better understanding,
