Hi

This lock will be fine for the purpose of locking your frame and rear wheel to a bike rack or similar solid piece of street furniture. If you are looking to remove the front wheel and lock that too then the longer version may be preferable.

You should choose the shortest version that you can for your purpose so that a thief cannot get good purchase to break the lock. It is also recommended that two lock be used - a U-lock and a chain lock, as this increases the chances of thwarting a thief.

Hope this helps

This lock is very strong and I feel confident leaving my bike unattended whilst at work despite a few thefts in the last year (all bikes stolen had flimsy cable locks which could easily be cut).

The length of this d lock is standard and easily fits around my frame and the post I lock it too. You won't find a stronger lock for this price that is any longer.

The length of what you require depends on what you are locking your bike too. So depending on this you might just be able to get your back wheel and your frame secured. Otherwise you would need a second lock. I have a Abus long D lock to secure by back wheel but you could use a Kryptonite Kryptoflex cable like the one I recommend below.

Are the dimensions quoted for inside of the loop or the external dimensions of the lock?

I'm hoping to use this to lock my hardrock and want to pass it thru the rear wheel and frame also.

We believe these are for the outside of the lock and this should go through wheel and frame comfortably.
