I own this and have weighed the lock with digital scales. It came up as 1.1kg. I weighed it twice and got the same results. With the bracket: 1.2kg.

A popular online mail order company lists it on their website: "Boxed-product Weight: 1.3 Kg"
Just as a point of interest, the same site lists the Kryptonite Mini as having a boxed weight of 1.1kg. (960g just the lock)

It will fit within the frame. It also can be secured past/resting on the down tube without marking the bike because it has a coating. The system to secure the bike is very versatile the rubber band can move and it is quite difficult to release the clasp once you fit the lock carrier to the frame. However despite this I would still recommend this lock if you want to make sure suggest you carry it in a bag. Due to the weight I think over time it will mark the frame at least the probability of your bike being there when you need it will increase.

U-lock dimensions: 12.7 x 22.9 cm

beware that because of the bend of the bar inside the lock, it can be tricky getting the d-lock through frame and wheels unless parking on purpose built bike parking. i use this with a 7ft kryptonite extension cable through the front wheel, or both wheels if i can only do the frame in tight/unconventional spots. i have confidence in this lock.

Does this come with Kryptonite Guarantee

Ive heard that Kryptonite are so confident about their locks they come with a guarantee, like a built in insurance that if your bike is stolen, by returning the lock you can claim the money back for your bike. Is this the case for this lock? Do you know what i am on about?

Yes it does, there is a link on the packaging where you register the bike. I think it is only for the first year though.
