From experience, it seems that this saddle fits pretty much all saddle sizes, but if your saddle is abnormally big or small, it may not.

It will be a bit loose on childrens bikes but will fit the majority of bikes out there. It fits the wife's womans' specific saddle a lot better than mine. Even with the drawstring pulled tight, it tends to work loose on a ride, but this doesn't affect the comfort factor.

It's possible that this may improve your comfort slightly on your existing saddle, due to the extra gel padding/support it provides, but mens and womens saddles are actually different shapes, so you will still have a saddle shape that isn't designed for females underneath the cover. My advice in this instance would be to look for a good quality ladies specific saddle, perhaps with gel built into the saddle already.
